When you commission a Salute, we’ll first ask you to provide us with a note, essay, poem, or one-page story that tells your special someone how much he or she means to you (the Salute is a framed piece of art so we are limited to about one or two pages of written text, or up to 500 words). This could be a love letter. It could be the story of an amazing day the two of you spent together and what it meant to you. Or it could be funny quotes you’ve collected from family members, friends, and coworkers. It’s up to you.
If you prefer to have someone else do the writing, we can help with that too. For an additional fee, we can provide a professional writer who will find out what you want to say and turn it into a polished and personal piece of writing that reflects your own style and personality. Just let us know.
Once your words are down on paper, our editorial staff will check them over to make sure every I is dotted and every T is crossed. Then the polished written work is handed over to our creative team. The team sits down, reviews the information, and decides how to turn your words into a masterpiece. During this stage, we’ll choose the materials and decide what illustrations or art to include. We’ll also ask for your input throughout the process so the finished artwork will be based on the style and preferences you provide.
Finally, the masterpiece comes together. Our team of artists creates a personalized piece of art by incorporating letterpress printing, archival-quality handmade papers, and original illustrations, and then professionally frames it all for presentation. And at last, the Salute is carefully packaged and insured and shipped out to you.
But the best part is yet to come. The unveiling. The moment your honoree is presented with this artfully-made Salute. Be sure to have a camera or camcorder on hand to capture the gasps of amazement and the tears of joy. There are sure to be both.
